THE London market lost 2 per cent last week as fresh fears over the impact of the credit crunch returned to haunt US investors.
Among the major investment banks, the summer's financial turmoil claimed its biggest victim yet - Merrill Lynch chief executive Stan O'Neal, who "retired" on Tuesday.
