SCOTS like to consider themselves canny; at the hands of the glib stereotyper, we are even portrayed as downright mean. And yet, a recent report suggested, we are among the worst in Britain at saving ourselves money. The report, into energy bills and the number of people who switch their electricity or gas supplier, found customers north of the Border were the least likely to track down a cheaper rate - even though the process can be as simple as a phone call or a click on a computer mouse.
