Summary


SOME are blessed with such a rare mixture of fortune and fortitude that it would be almost sacrilegious not to make the most of it. As a duty to those who have invested faith, hope and money in them, they feel obliged to sacrifice themselves and even their families, in order to fulfil their destiny. Heads of state are among the chosen few, as are spiritual leaders, plus the incomparable Tiger Woods.

Inside the hallowed gates of Augusta National this week, when another Masters Tournament will unfold over the old indigo plantation, the world's No.1 will be reminded of why he was put on this earth. Mike Weir will be defending his title, and Arnold Palmer making his 50th appearance, but as always Woods will be the main attraction, sneaking in before dawn to practise, and later leading hordes through the dogwood and on to the promised land.
