WHAT'S all the fuss about? Collins beat off stiff competition to join the National Theatre of Scotland's Young Company as its director. The seven-strong ensemble was hand-picked, boy-band- style, from hundreds of applicants last Christmas, to spend 2006 working together. Comprising a director, two producers and four actors, the group has programmed the entire year themselves, under expert mentoring by top professionals from the NTS.
It's a big break for Collins, who has been juggling a couple of Fringe shows with a job in a cafe since graduating from Edinburgh's Queen Margaret University last summer.
