BRITAIN is unlikely to be ready for the planned switchover from analogue to digital television in 2010, the regulator Ofcom has warned.

Stephen Carter, chief executive of the media and communications watchdog, says 2012 is a more realistic date for 95 per cent of homes to be receiving digital, the government's trigger level for the switchover.
