Recipes for Success

Summary


WHETHER you're after a book for a foodie friend's Christmas or would like to brush up on your own culinary skills, there's plenty of inspiration in this year's selection of cookbooks. And much as I would love you all to go out and buy my latest Book of Baking (Headline, GBP 20), I recommend some other books for the non-bakers among you.

1 Falling Cloudberries by Tessa Kiros (Murdoch Books, GBP 25) is a refreshingly different and personal book, tracking the author's life as the daughter of a Finnish mother and Greek-Cypriot father who lived in South Africa and Italy. Thus, the book follows a culinary path starting with Finnish dishes such as lingonberry jam, Finnish meatballs and cinnamon and cardamom buns, all of which I am familiar with, having lived for a year in northern Finland.
