SCOTS who die in accidents will be assumed to want their organs used for transplants unless they 'opt out' while alive, under a radical change to the law to be proposed this week.

The plan, which is intended to tackle the serious shortage of organs for transplants, would reverse the current 'opt in' system where people carry donor cards.
