Summary
SOME THINGS this summer seem to have stretched on interminably, to the point where it's difficult to care anymore. Big Brother would be one example, the long saga concerning the sale of my house - no, I won't bore you again - and then there's the oft-repeated promise from the boy that he will mow the lawn before we lose the cat completely in the wildly overgrown grass.
Yet by far the most mind-numbing of all the summer traumas is my never-ending search for wall lights for the living-room. We've looked everywhere - posh, cheap, charity shops, one-off designers.
