The issue - concerning the letter she had written to a court on behalf of a convicted fraudster Abdul Rauf - had landed Sturgeon in deep trouble. Rauf had stolen nearly GBP 60,000 by forging signatures on pension books and was again facing jail after admitting fraudulently claiming income support.
