THERE had been the fear among Rangers fans that Kenny Miller would not be able to fill the shooting boots of Kris Boyd when he departed for a fresh challenge in the summer. Now the Ibrox faithful are unwilling to countenance life without the man who has emerged from Boyd's shadow.

Where once people wondered how Rangers could replace him, they now exalt a player who has made a mockery of the argument Boyd's apologists used that strikers cannot combine a high workrate and healthy contribution to the team play, while also banging in the goals prolifically.
