Summary


AUTHOR and broadcaster Simon Reeve has an impressive CV. Not only has he won an Oscar, for his film about the 1972 terrorist massacre at the Munich Olympics, he has survived electrocution, a walk through a minefield and arrest by the KGB for spying. It's hard to say whether he's lucky or foolish. Probably both.

In his latest adventure, mild-mannered Reeve sets out to follow the equator, an invisible line that travels 25,000 miles around the globe and passes through some of the world's most troubled countries. The region is also home to almost half of the planet's rainforests, which support the majority of the world's species, and boasts the widest river, longest snake, biggest flower and smelliest fruit.
