FOLLOWING yesterday's comprehensive 3-0 Scottish Cup final defeat, Ross County's players conceded that they had finally met their match in Peter Houston's combative Dundee United side. Player after player lined up to acknowledge the SPL side's superior tactical nous and to laud the success of the aggressive approach, which mirrored that which had seen County advance to Hampden for the first time in the club's history.

"Dundee United did very well and they deserved to win," said midfielder Iain Vigurs. "They got in our faces and didn't allow us to play. I don't know what it was today, we just didn't click. For whatever reason, we didn't play our usual game where we pass it really quickly; the first half was all over the place.
