THUS, the Scottish telecoms firm, is expected to bounce back from its failed attempt to acquire Energis by launching a bid for either United Utilities' Your Communications or Global Crossing's UK operations.
Chief executive Bill Allan, speaking for the first time since his GBP 800m offer was rejected in favour of a lower bid from Cable & Wireless, was in combative mood despite last week's setback and hinted at seeking another partner.
